19361951 Morgan 4/4 Series I

Morgan’s first proper road car was the 4-4 as released in 1936. It initially used a Coventry Climax 4-cylinder engine and was the first Morgan to have 4 wheels. Even with just 36 bhp available, the model was used in competition including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and many Rallies of the period.

In 1939, the model used a 1.5-liter Triumph engine with overhead valves.

Called the flat-rads by some, the model was known as the 4/4 in the post war period, and the car was produced with only slight upgrades until 1951.
